The international credit rating agency Fitch Ratings has confirmed Turkey's credit rating as "BB-". The credit rating outlook has been changed from "stable" to "positive".
Fitch Ratings announced a new development regarding Turkey's credit rating outlook on January 23, 2026.
TURKEY'S CREDIT OUTLOOK UPGRADED
According to the announcement, Fitch Ratings confirmed Turkey's long-term foreign currency issuer default rating (IDR) at 'BB-'. The agency also upgraded Turkey's rating outlook from "Stable" to "Positive".
IT WAS EXPECTED TO REMAIN STABLE
In July 2025, Fitch confirmed Turkey's long-term credit rating at "BB-" and maintained its outlook as "stable". It was expected that Fitch would keep the current level for the rating, which is three notches below the investment-grade level.
