AGRICULTURAL LANDS UNDER WATER

The floodwaters resulting from intermittent rains over the past two days in Ahlat district have affected agricultural lands in the Kırklar neighborhood. Potato and bean fields cultivated in the region were covered with water, leaving many producers facing substantial financial losses.

Ahmet İnan, a farmer affected by the flood, stated that approximately one thousand decares of agricultural land in the area were submerged, noting that fields planted with beans and potatoes suffered severe damage. Expressing that their efforts have gone to waste due to the disaster, İnan said, 'Flooding occurred after two days of continuous rain. Nearly one thousand decares of agricultural land were flooded. Our bean and potato fields suffered great damage. We farmers are in a difficult situation. We expect authorities to conduct damage assessment studies and provide us with support.'
