Former CHP Bursa Deputy Prof. Dr. Lale Karabıyık passed away at the age of 59 in the hospital where she had been receiving treatment for a while.

The first ceremony for Prof. Dr. Karabıyık, who lost her life at the age of 59, will be held tomorrow at 10:00 AM at Uludağ University. After the ceremony, the funeral prayer will be held at noon at Bursa Ulu Mosque. Karabıyık will then be laid to rest in her hometown Bilecik.

WHO IS LALE KARABIYIK?

Lale Karabıyık (August 22, 1965, Bilecik - July 20, 2025) was a Turkish academic and politician.

She graduated from the Department of Business Administration at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Uludağ University in 1986. She completed her master's degree at the same university in 1989 and her doctorate in 1993. In 2005, she was appointed as a professor in the finance department of the Department of Business Administration at Uludağ University.

In addition to six textbooks and research books she prepared, she has many articles published in various national and international journals. During her tenure as a faculty member, she also held various administrative positions in addition to her academic duties.

Since 1999, he has been making economic and market evaluations in local and national media and has been featured with his columns.

In the general elections held in 2015, he was elected as a member of the Turkish Grand National Assembly from the Republican People's Party for the 25th term in Bursa. He is married and a mother of one child.

On January 24, 2016, he was appointed as the Deputy Chairman responsible for Social Policies of the CHP. On February 12, 2018, he was appointed as the Deputy Chairman responsible for Education Policies. During the MYK meeting held on June 1, 2023, he submitted his resignation to the party leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and resigned from the MYK. According to a statement made by the CHP on June 5, 2023, he was appointed as the Deputy Chairman of Employer Organizations in the MYK.

He passed away on July 20, 2025.
