TRUMP-ZELENSKY MEETING AT THE UN SUMMIT
US President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. In his meeting with Zelensky, Trump reiterated the US's support for Ukraine and argued that European countries should not buy oil and natural gas from Russia.

In a press conference held at the UN building, Trump emphasized the US's support for Ukraine, stating, "We have great respect for the struggle Ukraine is undertaking." In response to a question, "Should NATO countries shoot down Russian planes entering their airspace?" he answered, "Yes, I think so."
Calling on European countries to stop buying oil and natural gas from Russia, Trump mentioned that he would meet with Hungarian President Viktor Orban and expressed his belief that Orban would also stop purchasing natural gas from Moscow after their meeting.

When asked when he would meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to assess the latest situation regarding the end of the war, Trump said, "I will inform you about this within a month." Ukrainian President Zelensky personally thanked Trump, stating that they demanded the US and Europe to impose stronger sanctions on Moscow and to stop buying oil and natural gas from Russia.
