As part of a large-scale drug investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, former Habertürk executive Veyis Ateş, social media influencer Taner Çağlı, nightclub owner Cengiz Can Atasoy, Süzer Holding Vice Chairman Ali Baran Süzer, and 17 other individuals were detained.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Smuggling, Narcotics, and Economic Crimes Investigation Bureau is continuing its investigation into the crimes of "manufacturing and trafficking narcotic substances," "providing special places, equipment, or materials to facilitate the use of narcotic or stimulant substances and taking measures to make it difficult for users to be caught," "purchasing, accepting, or possessing narcotic or stimulant substances for use," "using narcotic or stimulant substances," and "promoting and facilitating prostitution." A new wave of operations was carried out this morning as part of the extensive drug investigation.

ARREST WARRANT FOR 20 SUSPECTS

An arrest warrant was issued for 20 suspects, including former Habertürk executive and presenter Veyis Ateş and social media phenomenon Taner Çağlı, who were identified as being involved in these crimes. 17 of the suspects have been detained.

According to information reported by Yeni Şafak reporter Burak Doğan; in addition to Veyis Ateş and Taner Çağlı, other names detained include Cengiz Can Atasoy, the owner of the nightclub "Suma Han," Şebnem İnan, the owner of the social media account "The Bacım" with 2.5 million followers, Ali Baran Süzer, Vice Chairman of the Board of Süzer Holding, Nilay Didem Kılavuz, and Dilara Ege Çevik.

5 SUSPECTS ABROAD

It has been determined that 5 of the suspects are abroad. In simultaneous operations conducted yesterday in Istanbul and Muğla to capture 15 suspects, 14 suspects, including Ateş and Çağlı, were detained. Efforts to capture 1 fugitive suspect are ongoing.

PRIVATE ROOMS FOR PROSTITUTION AND DRUGS FOUND IN SUMA HAN

As part of the same investigation, 3 more suspects were detained in an operation carried out at venues named "Amaya," "Bebek Hotel," "Kastel Elektromüzik," "Suma Han," and "Taksim Club IQ" upon the prosecutor's instruction.

During searches at the workplaces, substances believed to be drugs, unlicensed firearms, pistols, and ammunition were seized.

Additionally, it was determined that there were private rooms for prostitution and drugs in the venue named "Suma Han." The procedures for a total of 17 suspects at the police station are ongoing.

Taner Çağlı's video with former Habertürk Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Akif Ersoy, who was arrested in the drug operation, has once again become a topic on social media. Çağlı introduced Ersoy by saying, "We are with one of the most trusted private individuals in Turkey." In the program, Çağlı stated, "I think if we show you to every mother and ask, 'Would you give your daughter to this man as you see him?' every mother would say 'Yes.'

VEYİS ATEŞ HAD GIVEN A STATEMENT

Veyis Ateş had come to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan to give a statement as part of the drug investigation a few days ago and left the courthouse after completing his statement. It was learned that Ateş, like the other detained individuals, would undergo a drug test at the Forensic Medicine Institute.

ŞEVVAL ŞAHİN'S CLOSE FRIEND

It has been learned that Şevval Şahin, who has an arrest warrant against her as part of the drug investigation, is a close friend of Buse İskenderoğlu, the 2016 Miss Turkey who was detained. It has been reported that Şahin, who previously stated, "I will return to my country," has not yet returned to Turkey.
