In the districts of Etimesgut, Sincan, and Yenimahalle in Ankara, 153 workers were hospitalized after being poisoned by the food they consumed. While the treatment of 4 workers continues in intensive care, 4 individuals from the catering company have been detained as part of the investigation into the poisonings.

Four suspects were detained in relation to the poisoning incident of 153 workers who fell ill after eating at a construction site in Ankara.

According to the information obtained, workers at the construction site became unwell after eating food from a catering company last night. A total of 153 workers sought treatment at nearby hospitals with suspected food poisoning. It was learned that four suspects from the catering company were detained in connection with the poisoning incident.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Numerous calls were made to the 112 Emergency Call Center due to complaints of nausea and vomiting from construction sites in the districts of Etimesgut, Sincan, and Yenimahalle, as well as some residential addresses.

While some individuals were transported to the hospital by ambulances, others went to healthcare facilities on their own.

In this context, it was reported that 153 individuals applied to various hospitals across Ankara, with 8 of them being discharged, 142 in emergency services, and 4 continuing to be monitored and treated in intensive care.

Initial assessments by the teams sent to the area indicated that the citizens had consumed a chicken döner menu provided by a catering company, and the existing findings were consistent with food poisoning.
