A high school junior in Eskişehir was beaten by four peers. The student, who suffered fractures to his jaw and spine from the blows, was taken into emergency surgery, where a plate was inserted into his jaw. Four individuals under the age of 18 who were detained in connection with the incident were arrested.
After the fight that broke out following a dispute between K.N. Altınkama, a student in the 11th grade of the Atatürk Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School's Machine Department, and his classmate, the 18-year-old suspects Y.Z., A.L., O.G., and E.İ.A., who were taken into custody due to fractures in his spine and jaw caused by the assault, were released under judicial control, which was objected to by the Eskişehir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
4 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ARRESTED
Following the prosecutor's objection, a new detention order was issued for the 4 suspects. Y.Z., A.L., O.G., and E.İ.A., who were taken into custody again by police teams, were ordered to be arrested by the court to which they were brought.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On February 3, a dispute arose between K.N. Altınkama and his classmate Y.Z. during physical education class over a matter of throwing a ball at each other, and Y.Z. later called Altınkama to the front of the school to talk during lunch break.
HE WAS BEATEN TO A PULP
During this time, Altınkama was assaulted by Y.Z., A.L., O.G., and E.İ.A. The child, who was struck on the back of his neck and jaw, was rescued when the police teams in the area intervened in the fight. Following a report, the health team that arrived at the high school provided first aid at the scene and then transported Altınkama by ambulance to Eskişehir Osmangazi University Health, Application and Research Hospital, where the student was operated on due to a fracture in his spine.
