In the "match-fixing and betting" operation conducted in 9 provinces centered in Istanbul, 4 out of 32 suspects taken into custody were arrested, while judicial control measures were applied to 28 of them.

Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Unit, coordinated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, completed the procedures for 32 suspects who were detained during an operation targeting club managers with betting slips related to bets played in favor of competitors, involving goals and players, at legal betting sites in the country.

The peace court decided to arrest Giresunspor managers Mustafa Tütüncü, Tahsin Çoban, and Ferhat Karademir, as well as Konyaspor manager Osman Serper.

The court ruled that judicial control measures would be applied to 28 suspects, including Orhan Dönmez, Abdullah Sancak, Aytaç Altay, Ersin Sarıkaya, Osman Topal, Bahadır Haktanır, and Tuncay Gülel.

In a statement from the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that as part of the investigation known to the public as "betting-match-fixing in football," research conducted on the managers of football clubs competing in professional football leagues revealed that 33 suspects had betting accounts.

It was noted in the statement that simultaneous operations were carried out at 33 different addresses in various provinces centered in Istanbul against 33 suspects, who were found to have placed bets on the opposing team during a football match between the team they managed and another team, under the allegation of violating Article 11 of Law No. 6222 on the Prevention of Violence and Disorder in Sports (match-fixing and incentive bonuses). It was reported that 32 suspects were caught, and efforts were ongoing to locate 1 suspect.

The names of those for whom detention orders were issued as part of the investigation are as follows:

"Adana Demirspor managers Abdullah Sancak, Burhan Serkan Kalmaz, and İhsan Çetinkaya, Ankaragücü manager Adem Başbilen, Yeni Malatyaspor manager Ahmet Topdağ, Antalyaspor managers Tuncay Gülel, Cem Koç, Cesur Burak Akar, Aytaç Altay, and Bahadır Haktanır, Bodrumspor official Caner Tuna, Göztepe manager Enes Memiş, Giresunspor managers Erdinç Hıdımoğlu, Ersin Sarıkaya, Ferhat Karademir, Gürkan Temür, Mustafa Tütüncü, Osman Topal, İbrahim İnaç, and Tahsin Çoban, Konyaspor managers Hakan Faydasıçok, Yunus Emre Demirkol, Osman Öztürk, and Osman Serper, Alanyaspor managers Hüsamettin Akyüz and Hüseyin Gümrükcüler, Denizlispor managers Hüseyin Sorudak and Yavuz Cinkaya, Konyaspor managers Kamil Yücel and Muhammet Ali Atasever, Kocaelispor manager Orhan Dönmez, Gençlerbirliği manager Süleyman Yurtseven, Sivasspor manager Yasin Ocak."

After their procedures at the police station, the 32 suspects were taken to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan, where their statements were taken by the prosecutor.

The suspects, Abdullah Sancak, Aytaç Altay, Ersin Sarıkaya, Mustafa Tütüncü, Osman Topal, Tahsin Çoban, Bahadır Haktanır, Ferhat Karademir, Orhan Dönmez, Osman Serper, and Tuncay Gülel were referred to the peace court with a request for arrest. 21 of the suspects were sent to the court with a request for judicial control, while an arrest warrant was requested for 1 suspect who was being sought as part of the investigation.
