MHP Deputy Chairman Semih Yalçın criticized the CHP's candidate selection process, stating, "If İmamoğlu receives support from CHP members, he will be a premature presidential candidate."
MHP Deputy Chairman Semih Yalçın made a statement regarding the candidacy discussions within the CHP. Yalçın noted that "the CHP, which appears to have lost control and strayed from the agenda track, is galloping towards the destination of great political disappointment," and added that the CHP has long pursued a policy disconnected from the country's agenda and the realities of the region and the world.
"CHP HAS PRODUCED AN OFF-TOPIC ENGAGEMENT FOR ITSELF"
In his statement, Yalçın evaluated that the CHP has "drifted even further away with the İmamoğlu deviation," saying, "The agenda of the CHP is not the intricate problems of Turkey and major cities, especially Istanbul, but rather İmamoğlu's uncontrollable ambitions. While we are curious about whether he will 'return to us' despite the bewildered reactions to our General President's invitation, the CHP has produced a new off-topic engagement for itself. Due to poor management, the reins of the horse have fallen under the control of an incompetent individual who considers himself the 'duke of Istanbul,'" he stated.
"İMAMOĞLU IS BURNING WITH DESIRE TO SECURE HIS CANDIDACY"
Yalçın stated, "It is not the one who rides the horse but the one who whips it greedily that drives it." He added, "It is uncertain whether the horse is running on its own or if İmamoğlu is making it run. In other words, the drum is on Özel's back, but the stick is in İmamoğlu's hand. While Istanbul struggles with infrastructure and superstructure problems, Mayor İmamoğlu is preoccupied with solving the presidential candidacy issue. İmamoğlu is burning with desire to secure his candidacy. For this reason, he has personally mobilized the CHP organization, which Özgür Özel cannot control. His aim is to eliminate potential political rivals from the very beginning," he wrote.
'IN PURSUIT OF PUBLIC OPINION FORMATION PLANS'
Yalçın expressed that Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu is "calculating with fine threads" considering the potential negative outcomes of the legal process against him, stating, "İmamoğlu is in pursuit of plans to present himself as a presidential candidate and to pressure his counterparts from the outset and create public opinion on this matter."
"İMAMOĞLU HAS NO EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN"
Yalçın from the MHP stated, "There is no other explanation for the rush to determine candidates in a manner akin to stealing goods from a fire, placing a dilemma of preference before CHP members. Let us remind the CHP executives, who frequently resort to the literature of hunger these days, that megacities like Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and Adana are in need of services. For instance, Ekrem İmamoğlu does not even have an 'emergency action plan' for the hundreds of thousands of buildings that need to be urbanized or reinforced in Istanbul," he added.
PREMATURE ANALOGY
Yalçın also stated, "Moreover, if İmamoğlu receives support from CHP members, he will be a premature presidential candidate. With years to go before birth and the election, the untimely 'offspring' will not bode well for the CHP. The CHP will have to grapple with a series of disabilities and organ deficiencies that this monstrosity of creation will suffer from.
If the premature sign can somehow escape the incubator, it will crow left and right, and this time, because it crows out of turn, the nation will cut off its beak. In short, early birth will bring not early elections but early disappointment for the CHP. This issue should also be asked to the public. Does this person possess the sensitivity, merit, competence, and experience to be president? We are sure that the vast majority will answer this question negatively. The inexperienced jockey Özgür Özel has a difficult job. Özel will not be able to cover up the debt trap in the CHP and the fire of untimely candidate selection with any move. Seeking to defeat the Cumhur Alliance, which he cannot compete with, through insults, curses, slanders, and false accusations will not benefit the CHP," he concluded.
