FOREIGN REFEREE, 10 THOUSAND POLICE
Galatasaray also wants the conditions in the derby to be the same as in Seyrantepe, and they want 10 thousand police officers to be on duty along with the foreign referee.
FENERBAHÇE ALSO WANTS A FOREIGN REFEREE!
Fenerbahçe also wants a foreign referee for the cup match. In statements made after the draw for the cup match, Fenerbahçe Board Member Hulusi Belgü said, "Our stance is very clear, very evident. We see great benefit in having foreign referees officiate all derbies. I believe there is no point in Turkish sports being involved in referee issues. We would like and support having a foreign referee in this match and in the derbies to be played."
Speaking before the match against Rangers, Fenerbahçe Vice President Acun Ilıcalı said, "We have been matched with Galatasaray in the cup. Congratulations. Having it in Kadıköy is an advantage for us. I heard that there is a request for a foreign referee. I hope it comes. We would be very happy. We do not have a claim of 'let's play with local referees in Kadıköy, and with foreign referees outside.' Our aim is to bring justice. I hope such a request comes from there as well. I wish for a foreign referee to officiate."
