'WE SHOWED THE SPIRIT OF TURKISH WOMEN'
Expressing their pride, Gizem Örge said, "It was a fierce struggle. There is a bittersweet feeling because it was so close. We are proud. I usually lose myself after any defeat, but today I am proud! We fought until the last point. We showed the spirit of Turkish women to the whole world! We are a volleyball country. We will continue to work every day to give our best. We fought well. Hopefully, in the coming years..." she said.
"I AM NOT BITTERSWEET"
Experienced captain Eda Erdem also commented on the match, saying, "I am not bittersweet. You cannot learn to win without losing here. I am really proud of my teammates. We are aware that we have achieved a great success and we are not sad. We will progress step by step. We are new here. We will think about the next tournament now." she stated.
"IT'S PROUD TO EXPERIENCE THIS AT 38"
Eda Erdem, who said, "I love all my teammates and I appreciate everyone's effort," added, "I try to give my all on the court. I had a good rest, and I needed it. My performance depends on the team. I am proud to compete under this emblem. Being selected as one of the best in my position at the World Championship I played at 38 years old is a pride for me. I always set goals for myself. As I surpass those goals, I feel both proud and surprised. I hope I am a good example for the youth. I am very proud. Now we will look forward to the next year."
'A GREAT SUCCESS'
Another national star, İlkin Aydın, emphasized that the second place is a great success, stating, "I have already said before, we want the championship the most, but second and third places are not to be undervalued. It is a great success. We are proud. I congratulate all my friends. I thank everyone who was with us."
The 25-year-old player, stating that they are on the same mission in the national team, said, "I always said I would do my best. Yes, not being able to be in the VNL created a match deficit for me, but if I could help the team, I am happy. It doesn't matter if it's one serve or one spike; we are all here for the same purpose."
