The funeral of Ferdi Tayfur, who passed away at the age of 79 due to liver and kidney failure, was brought to the mosque where his prayer would be held after the memorial ceremony organized at the Atatürk Cultural Center. Some citizens who gathered around Tayfur's coffin on the bier engaged in a disrespectful competition to take photos. Some other citizens reacted to those moments.
Legendary figure of Arabesque music, 79-year-old Ferdi Tayfur, passed away on Thursday evening at the hospital where he was receiving treatment due to liver and kidney failure.
INTENSE ATTENDANCE AT THE CEREMONY
Alongside the Tayfur family, the famous artist's funeral ceremony held at the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) was attended by Culture Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, Orhan Gencebay, İbrahim Tatlıses, Fatih-Şebnem Kısaparmak, Yavuz Bingöl, and many fans.
THE MOSQUE WAS ALSO PACKED
After the ceremony held at AKM, Ferdi Tayfur's funeral was brought to Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque. Just like at AKM, a large crowd was present at the mosque to bid farewell to the famous artist on his final journey.

Some citizens' actions at the mosque left onlookers in disbelief. Some individuals approached the coffin of the famous artist on the bier to take photos, while others took selfies.
