The master artist Emin Gümüşkaya passed away yesterday at the age of 77 in the hospital where he was receiving treatment. A ceremony was held today at the State Theaters Tekel Stage in Üsküdar for the actor who died due to lung failure. The ceremony was attended by actor Zafer Algöz and Gümüşkaya's fellow actors from the city theaters.
After the ceremony, which was attended by a small number of people, Emin Gümüşkaya's body was sent off to his hometown with applause for the ceremony and funeral prayer to be held in Bursa tomorrow.

Speaking at the ceremony, actor Zafer Algöz said, "When we attended the youth theater courses opened by Bursa State Theaters, he was like a father to all of us. He was one of the rare, glorious people who did this profession not for making money, but for love. In fact, one day he said, 'Son, how many plays have we acted in together, how many tours have we done? I acted in plays at the state theater, I played a 'Traveling Teyyar'. Everyone knew me that way, what a thankless profession this is.' My bond with him is different. Of course, I had the honor of meeting and working with many people and many of my professional elders in state theaters and the cinema community. But just like the late Nur Subaşı and the late Semih Sergen, Emin brother was a valuable man produced by a factory that has now closed."
