Necdet Kökeş, the veteran of Yeşilçam who is remembered for the character "ZıpZıp" in the Battal Gazi films, passed away recently. There was no attendance from celebrities at the memorial held at Atlas Cinema for the Yeşilçam veteran. Noting this lack of respect at the ceremony, master actress Nur Sürer expressed her outrage, saying, "I would have liked to see the male or female actors who played leading roles in Yeşilçam during that time. No one is here… Shame on them."
Necdet Kökeş, one of the veteran actors of Yeşilçam, was bid farewell to his final journey after his passing. A memorial ceremony was held for the master at the Atlas Cinema in Taksim, while the low attendance at the ceremony drew attention.
DIED AT THE AGE OF 82 Necdet Kökeş, who played a role in hundreds of productions in Turkish cinema, was hospitalized after falling ill on December 15, 2025. Kökeş, who had been struggling with health issues for a long time, passed away at the age of 82 on February 2.
ATTENDANCE AT THE MEMORIAL WAS VERY LOW Some of Kökeş's colleagues and cinema workers attended the memorial ceremony at the Atlas Cinema. However, the absence of many well-known figures from Yeşilçam sparked reactions.
Nur Sürer NUR SÜRER: SHAME ON YOU Speaking at the ceremony, master actor Nur Sürer reacted harshly to the insufficient attendance. Sürer stated that those who contributed to Yeşilçam faced ingratitude, using the following expressions:
"I would have liked to see the male or female actors who played leading roles during that period in Yeşilçam. There is no one… If they played leading roles in 250-280 films, Necdet and others acted in 1500 films. In the end, what do we have? Just friends from that era living on this street... Shame on you."
