President Erdoğan, who made an official visit to Egypt, made statements at a joint press conference with Egyptian President Sisi. Referring to the tension between the US and Iran, Erdoğan said, "All external interventions in Iran pose significant risks. Problems should be resolved through diplomacy."

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was officially welcomed by Egyptian President Abdelfattah el-Sisi in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, during his official visit.

ERDOĞAN'S OFFICIAL VISIT TO EGYPT

After Erdoğan and Sisi took their places at the ceremony area, a cannon salute was performed, and the national anthems of both countries were played. President Erdoğan and Sisi then shook hands and posed for the press. Following the introduction of the delegations, Sisi and Erdoğan held a private meeting.

After the private and inter-delegation meetings, the two country leaders attended the signing ceremony of agreements. Sisi and Erdoğan made statements at a joint press conference.

Highlights from Sisi's statements, who spoke first, are as follows:

"We had a constructive meeting with President Erdoğan. We discussed what we can do in the upcoming period. We want to increase our trade volume to 15 billion dollars. Our region is very critical and turbulent. Therefore, we need to cooperate. We need trust and stability. Without interfering in anyone's internal affairs."

SISI: ERDOĞAN CONTINUES HIS DIPLOMATIC EFFORTS

Calm must be established in Palestine. UN resolutions must be implemented within the framework of a two-state solution. There are holy places in Palestine, and all of them need to be protected. We also addressed Sudan. Providing humanitarian aid is important. Mr. Erdoğan continues his diplomatic efforts. The unity of Sudan is very important.

"ERDOĞAN IS EGYPT'S MOST ESTEEMED GUEST"

Somalia should not be divided either. Stability must be established in Libya as well. We discussed Syria too. We support the unity of Syria. We would like to hold our next meeting in Ankara. Erdoğan is Egypt's most esteemed guest. I hope that peace and development prevail in the region."

Following Sisi, Erdoğan's statements are as follows:

"We want to benefit together from our thousand-year-old brotherhood. Our relations are advancing in every field, and we are very pleased. We share a common vision. I visited Egypt twice in the last 16 months. We are strengthening our relations. Our goal is a trade volume of 15 billion dollars. Our developing relations are also reflected in tourism.

ERDOĞAN: PERMANENT STABILITY IN LIBYA IS OUR COMMON GOAL WITH EGYPT

The Egyptian people show great interest in Turkish culture and language. We aim to increase our cooperation on maritime security. I thank Egypt for their cooperation in the aid sent to Gaza. Today, we also touched on regional issues. Permanent stability in Libya is our common goal with Egypt. We hope for a ceasefire in Sudan first, and then sustainable peace. We do not accept the decision to recognize Somaliland by Israel.

"A SYRIA WITH PROTECTED TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY AND POLITICAL UNITY WILL BE THE GREATEST WINNER FOR OUR ENTIRE REGION"

A Syria with protected territorial integrity and established political unity will be the greatest winner for our entire region. We are supporters of the great transformation in Syria and are determined to continue this support. We find the statements made by Egypt regarding the preservation of Syria's unity to be accurate and we support them.

"FOREIGN INTERVENTIONS IN IRAN POSE A RISK FOR THE REGION"

Regarding our neighbor Iran, we believe that especially foreign interventions pose significant risks for the entire region.

The diplomatic resolution of issues, including the nuclear file with Iran, is the most accurate method. With these thoughts, I would like to once again thank my dear brother President Sisi and the Egyptian officials for their hospitality. I hope that the decisions we made at the council meeting will contribute to the peace, prosperity, and stability of our region, especially our countries. Stay safe."
