An allegation that has emerged while tensions between the U.S. and Iran continue to escalate despite ongoing negotiation talks has made a significant impact. It was claimed that the People's Mujahedin Organization in Iran carried out an armed attack on the residence of religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
As tensions between the US and Iran escalate despite ongoing negotiation talks, a striking claim has emerged in Tehran.
GUNSHOTS HEARD
It has been alleged that the People's Mujahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) carried out an armed attack on the residence of religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Posts on social media and some opposition sources claimed that gunshots were heard around the area where Khamenei's residence is located in Tehran on Monday.
ROADS TO THE RESIDENCE BLOCKED
According to the allegations, security forces took extensive precautions in the area following the incident and blocked the roads leading to the residence. However, there has been no confirmation from Iranian official authorities regarding the attack. State media also did not publish any statements on the matter.
DESCRIBED AS A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION
The People's Mujahedin Organization has not made an official claim regarding the allegations. The organization has been known for its opposition activities against the Iranian regime for many years. The Tehran administration, on the other hand, designates the MEK as a terrorist organization.
