The Diril family stated that they kept the bees in a safe environment until spring by protecting them with blankets and tents, and they produced organic honey, which is sold for 10,000 lira per kilogram, using completely natural methods.

The Diril family, living in the village of Kovankaya in Beytüşşebap district, takes care of the honey bees like their own eyes. To protect the honey bees from wild animals during the winter months, the family has dedicated the largest room in the house, the guest room, to the honey bees.
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ROOM HAS BEEN ALLOCATED TO THEM
By closing the doors and windows and leaving a barred window open, Kemal Diril covered the honey bees with a blanket and then a tent before leaving them in the winter quarters. The honey bees, which will stay in the most beautiful room of the house for 5 months, will be taken outside again in the spring and relocated.
"WE SELL IT FOR 10 THOUSAND LIRA PER KILO"
Kemal Diril, who stated that he has lived here for years, expressed that he takes care of the honey bees like his own eyes and produces genuine organic honey. Diril said, "My father used to live here. After my father passed away, we settled here; we have a two-story house. As the name suggests, Kovankaya village is the first place where wild honey is produced. The honey here is considered the most expensive honey in the world. We sell it for 10 thousand lira per kilo, and we do not use any chemicals. We do not even produce smoke. It produces honey naturally on its own. Last year, I used chemicals. Most of the honey bees died, but this year I didn't use anything, and nothing happened. I have 40 beehives. I have given each one a name and a number. Some honey bees are lazy, so I don't want them to swarm. This place is sold from nothing; it is an untouched area," he said.
