Nadir Ersoy, the father of Mehmet Akif Ersoy, the former editor-in-chief of Habertürk who was arrested in a drug operation and faced serious allegations, made a statement. Ersoy said, "My son will come out of the cell he entered, strengthened like Prophet Yusuf, with God's permission."
As part of the drug investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, former Habertürk Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Akif Ersoy, Mustafa Manaz, Ufuk Tetik, and Ebru Gülan were arrested.
The prosecutor's office claimed in the arrest request that "the suspects provided a place and opportunity for the use of drugs in their own residences, supplied drugs to women who came to the house, and that Mehmet Akif Ersoy benefited sectorally and materially by engaging women with individuals in his circle."
"I DENY THE ALLEGATIONS AGAINST ME"
In his statement to the prosecutor's office, Mehmet Akif Ersoy said, 'I absolutely deny the statements and allegations against me. I have never used drugs in my life. These allegations are very ugly.'
FATHER MADE A STATEMENT
Mehmet Akif Ersoy's father, Nadir Ersoy, who was arrested on the charge of "establishing an organization to facilitate drug use and commit crimes," addressed the public with a video message.
After participating in a Palestinian demonstration, Father Ersoy, who recorded a video, stated that his son's innocence would be understood, saying, "My son will come out of that cell stronger, with God's permission, just like Prophet Yusuf." Ersoy, who requested that the agenda not be diverted from this issue, spoke for both himself and his son, saying, "Let us be sacrificed for Islam and the Palestinian cause."
