The incident occurred yesterday around 10:30 PM in Zeytinlik Neighborhood, 1140 Street. A dispute broke out at home between F.M. and her stepfather Mehmet Kara, whom she alleged forced her mother into prostitution. The argument quickly escalated into a fight. F.M. attempted to attack Kara with a knife. Mehmet Kara ran outside, and F.M. followed him with the knife in her hand. When F.M. saw that Kara was trying to escape by taxi, she called for help from the surroundings, saying he was a pervert. A scuffle broke out between Mehmet Kara and the people who caught him. During this time, F.M. stabbed Kara in the abdominal cavity, while another person stabbed him in the calf.
Kara, who was seriously injured, was taken to Tepecik Training and Research Hospital of the Health Sciences University (SBÜ). Despite the interventions, Mehmet Kara could not be saved. After the prosecutor's examination, Kara's body was taken to the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institute morgue.
6 SUSPECTS DETAINED
The teams of the Homicide Bureau of the Public Order Branch Directorate launched a wide-ranging investigation into the murder of Mehmet Kara. As part of the investigation, F.M., O.Ş., S.D. (16), H.A. (17), M.A. (17), and M.K. (19) were detained. In her initial statement to the police, F.M. claimed that Kara forced her mother to have relationships with other men for money. F.M. stated that she ran outside after her stepfather, who fled after the argument that broke out between them. F.M. expressed that when she saw Kara trying to escape by taxi, she called for help, saying, 'Help! This pervert!' and that unfamiliar people around got involved in the incident. It was learned that F.M. confessed to stabbing Kara during the scuffle and throwing the weapon into a garden of a house. Suspect O.Ş. reportedly stated that he learned Kara was harassing a woman and for this reason, he stabbed Kara in the calf.
It was reported that the processing of the suspects is ongoing.
