Ahmet Sonuç, known to the public as 'Jahrein', was acquitted in the case where he was held in prison for 29 days and charged with obscenity.

THE DECISION WAS ANNOUNCED BY HIS LAWYER

The development was announced by Jahrein's lawyer, Burhanettin Mumcuoğlu. In a statement made on his social media account, Mumcuoğlu said, "My client Ahmet 'Jahrein' Sonuç, who was unjustly held in prison for 29 days and charged with obscenity, has been ACQUITTED and cleared of all charges as of today."

WHAT HAPPENED?

Ahmet Sonuç was detained on September 13 for making statements deemed contrary to societal, familial, and child relationships during live broadcasts on social media platforms, which were considered obscene.

After the procedures at the police station, Sonuç was arrested by the duty magistrate he was brought before, but was released 29 days later to be tried without detention as a result of an appeal made by his lawyer.

In the indictment prepared against Sonuç, a prison sentence of 6 months to 3 years and a judicial fine of up to 5,000 days were requested for the crime of "obscenity through the press."
