In Bursa, the father Nazmi Aybey, who was determined to have committed suicide after strangling his 28-year-old daughter, found dead in the entrance of their apartment, was buried alongside her. Family members and neighborhood residents were overwhelmed with tears during the funeral ceremony.

The incident occurred on December 14 at around 22:30 in a three-story building located on Yayla Street in the Ovaakça neighborhood of Osmangazi district. Upon entering the house, relatives found 28-year-old Kübra Aybey motionless in bed on the ground floor, while her father, 55-year-old Nazmi Aybey, was found hanging in the attic. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the address upon notification. Medical teams determined that both the father and daughter had lost their lives. A preliminary examination conducted at the Bursa Forensic Medicine Institution revealed that the young girl had been strangled to death, and the father had committed suicide by hanging.
HE HAD BEEN IN A LETHARGIC STATE IN RECENT DAYS
It was learned that Nazmi Aybey was a car mechanic, while his daughter Kübra Aybey worked as an accountant at a private company. The family lived together in the three-story building, and neighborhood residents stated that Nazmi Aybey had exhibited a lethargic and withdrawn state of mind in recent days. It was noted that Kübra Aybey did not have any known issues.
After the autopsy procedures, the bodies of the father and daughter were buried side by side in Ovaakça Cemetery following the funeral prayer held at the central Ovaakça Mosque after the noon prayer. Family members and neighborhood residents were overwhelmed with tears during the funeral ceremony.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
