A father who killed a young man in the middle of the street with a shotgun for blackmailing his daughter with photos in Adana has appeared before a judge. The defendant stated that he only intended to scare the young man, while the victim's father, Mustafa Demirci, said, "I believe that the person who instigated this incident is his wife."

A lawsuit has been filed against 54-year-old Mehmet A., who is accused of killing 19-year-old Arda Demirci with a shotgun for blackmailing his daughter with photographs.

İ.A, who lives in the Sarıçam neighborhood of Yüreğir district, wanted to break up with her boyfriend Arda Demirci, with whom she had been in a relationship for a while. However, Demirci did not accept this. Meanwhile, İ.A. got engaged to someone else. Despite being engaged, Arda Demirci, who lives in the Kadirli district of Osmaniye, began to threaten his ex-girlfriend by saying, "If you don't get back together with me, I will show the photos we took together to your fiancé."

HE CURSED AT THE FATHER HE ENCOUNTERED ON THE ROAD

On May 8, when Arda Demirci came to Adana to visit his aunt, he encountered his ex-girlfriend's father, Mehmet A., while walking with his aunt's daughters. According to the allegations, the defendant cursed at him, saying, "I am the king of this place," while holding an electroshock device. Upon this, the defendant father took the gun from the trunk of his car and shot Demirci. Severely injured, Arda Demirci died in the hospital where he was taken.

After the incident, Mehmet A. was caught and arrested, and a case was opened against him for 'Intentional Murder' at the Adana 4th High Criminal Court.

"I TOOK THE GUN TO SCARE HIM"

During the hearing, detained defendant Mehmet A. attended along with the father of the deceased, Mustafa Demirci, and the parties' lawyers. In the hearing recorded by the Audio and Visual Information System (SEGBİS), Mehmet A., who works as a laborer at the Adana Provincial Health Directorate, stated that he did not have the intention to kill and described the moment of the murder as follows: "Before the incident, Arda had insulted me very severely. I took the gun from my vehicle to scare him. At that moment, when Arda's relatives saw that I had taken the gun, they started to hold and pull me. I did not know if there was a cartridge in the gun. At that moment, the gun suddenly fired. I had no intention of killing Arda."

"I DO NOT BELIEVE HIS SINCERITY"

The father of the deceased, Mustafa Demirci, filed a complaint against the defendant. Demirci said, "I do not believe in the sincerity of the defendant. I also believe that his wife is the one who made him do this."

The court prosecutor requested the continuation of the defendant's detention. The court panel decided to continue the detention of the defendant Mehmet A. and postponed the hearing to a later date for the completion of deficiencies.
