A foreign national who came as a customer to a tire repair shop in Antalya threw a label featuring the image of the founder leader of the Republic of Turkey, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, on the ground and stomped on it multiple times. Tire repairman Mehmet Can Sevinç, who did not remain indifferent to the situation, intervened by practically flying over the counter to the individual. ARRESTEDAccording to a statement from the governorship, the Provincial Police Department teams initiated an operation to capture the suspect following the news titled "Ugly Attack on Atatürk's Image in Antalya" that appeared in some media outlets on November 13. It was determined that the attack was carried out by a foreign national, A.A., at a workplace in the Güzeloba neighborhood of the Muratpaşa district on November 12. The suspect A.A. was apprehended in an operation conducted on the same day. After the procedures at the police station, the suspect was referred to the courthouse and was arrested for the crime of "violating Law No. 5816" under the category of "Crimes Committed Against Atatürk."
