The suspect, who tried to get rid of the body of the tea vendor he killed by hitting him with a stick after hitting him with a car in Konya, said in court, "I just wanted to lightly touch him with the car. I had no intention to kill."

On February 1st, the relatives of Yıldırım Uyan (42), who runs a tea house in the Güneysınır district of Konya, reported to the police that they had not heard from him. Teams from the Homicide Bureau of the Public Security Branch, which initiated an investigation into the matter, determined through security camera reviews that Uyan had been killed. The footage showed that Ali Osman K. hit Yıldırım Uyan, who was walking on the road, with his own car, and then beat him with a stick for about 7 minutes before taking him into his vehicle and leaving the scene. Following this, the teams detained Ali Osman K.

"I BURIED HIM WHEN I COULDN'T BURN THE BODY"

In his interrogation at the police station, Ali Osman K. confessed to his crime, saying, "There has been a grudge between Yıldırım Uyan and me due to a tea sales issue. On the day of the incident, I followed him and hit him on an empty road. After incapacitating him with the stick I had in my car, I took him to a barn. After beating him to death there, I also took gasoline with me and went to a mountainous area to try to burn the body, but when the body wouldn't burn, I buried it." After his procedures at the police station, Ali Osman K. was sent to prison by the court he was brought before.

The first hearing of the case, which is being heard at the Konya 1st Heavy Penal Court, was attended by the detained defendant Ali Osman K., the relatives of the victim Yıldırım Uyan, and the lawyers of the parties. Participating in the hearing via the Audio and Visual Information System from the prison he was in, Ali Osman K. claimed that he acted out of momentary anger.

"I WANTED TO TAP THE CAR LIGHTLY"

Stating that he runs a tea house in the district, Ali Osman K. defended himself with the following statements:

"The victim was selling tea in front of my workplace. I couldn't warn him because I was afraid of him; I didn't have the courage at that moment. Later, I reacted by saying, 'What are you trying to do?' He also insulted me and cursed at me. I was drunk that day. I couldn't stand him cursing at me. I wanted to lightly tap him with my car. I hit him, then tied his hands and feet, and put him in the car. He had a phone of mine that I wanted back; he said it was at his house. I went to his house, called the phone, but couldn't find it, and when I returned to the car, I saw that he was ice cold. I had no intention to kill."
