In his statement, Sakman mentioned that they had argued over financial difficulties on the day of the incident, saying, "My wife and I went out and came home that day; she had fallen asleep. When she woke up, she noticed that I had been drinking alcohol. Before the alcohol, I had also taken 4 antidepressant medications. When she asked how I got the alcohol, I told her I bought it with her credit card. We started arguing again. She said, 'Are you going to waste my money too? You already wasted your own money.' I started to cry. She said, 'How can you be a man? Stop crying, you have an inferiority complex. You were jealous of my ex-boyfriend because he was more handsome than you. You had an inferiority complex,' and I insulted her ex-boyfriend."
"I CHOKED HER WHEN SHE FELL TO THE GROUND"
Halit Can Sakman, who stated that he could not control his tears during his testimony, said, "Suddenly, my wife lunged at my throat with a knife. I stood up. She tried to run towards the door, throwing the knife on the ground. I grabbed another knife from the counter and stabbed Sevcan in the back once. When Sevcan fell to the ground, I choked her with my hands. I turned back to the kitchen counter and took another cutting tool, I don't remember if it was a knife or a cleaver, and cut her throat. I don't remember the rest. I opened my eyes in the hospital."

That monster should not see the light of day. I watched how the monster assaulted my daughter. My daughter tried to escape several times. We will have our trial. Justice will prevail, and my daughter's blood will not be left on the ground."
