The final stop for femicides this time was Kayseri. 33-year-old Rahman Alaca killed his wife Rabia Alaca, with whom he was in the process of divorce, by cutting her throat. It was learned that after the act, the murderer called his father-in-law and said, "I killed your daughter, come and take her." A case has been filed against Alaca demanding aggravated life imprisonment.

Last year, a chilling act of violence occurred in Kayseri. Rabia Alaca and her husband Rahman Alaca, who were allegedly in the process of divorce, argued for an unknown reason. As the argument escalated into a fight, Rahman Alaca stabbed Rabia Alaca with a knife he took out of his pocket. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the address following a report from bystanders. It was determined that Rabia Alaca had died under the care of the medical personnel.

HE FLED FIRST, THEN SURRENDERED

Rahman Alaca, who fled, was caught by the police teams. Rabia Alaca's body was taken by her family after the autopsy procedures and was buried in Erkilet Bülbülpınar Cemetery following the prayer held at Hulusi Akar Mosque. After completing his procedures at the police station, Rahman Alaca was sent to the courthouse and was arrested by the judge he was brought before.

INDICTMENT PREPARED

The investigation conducted by the Kayseri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office was completed, and an indictment was prepared. In the indictment accepted by the Kayseri Heavy Penal Court, an aggravated life sentence was requested for Rahman Alaca for the crime of 'intentional murder of a spouse.'

'HE CUT HER THROAT'

A witness whose statement was included in the indictment, A.F.A., said, "They argued. He stabbed her multiple times in the chest. Then he made her sit on the ground. He went behind her, held her chin, and cut her throat. He called his father and said, 'I cut my daughter, come and get her.' Then he called the police and reported himself. After that, he went to the park with the knife in his hand, sat down, and smoked a cigarette. Then he came back to the girl and stabbed her in the stomach again."

Another witness, B.A., stated, "I was going to the mosque. He said, 'Don't go near there, a murder was committed there. I killed my wife. Pass from this side.'

Moreover, the indictment, which also included the autopsy report, noted that Rabia Alaca had died due to at least 20 stab wounds.

'WE WERE MARRIED FOR 8 YEARS'

Rahman Alaca stated in his testimony, "We were married for 8 years. During this time, I may have slapped her once or twice. My wife had gone to a shelter. She said, 'I don't love you.' We had a hearing two weeks before the incident. The judge had given a time extension. If she hadn't died, we would have had our divorce case a week later. She said, 'If you don't divorce me, I will make your life miserable.' I regret it. I couldn't control my anger. After getting over the shock, I called the police and the ambulance," he said.

The defendant Rahman Alaca will appear before the judge for the first time in the coming days.
