In a surprising incident at Russia's Vladikavkaz Airport, a female passenger in a yellow fur coat mistook the baggage conveyor belt for a walkway, climbed onto it, and fell backward while watching the screens displaying flight details above her head, getting dragged into the baggage area behind the check-in counter. The woman, who had purchased a ticket from S7 Airlines to Moscow's Domodedovo Airport, is seen on security cameras climbing onto the baggage belt while airport staff were talking to another passenger, wearing a long black skirt and a pink hat. While the staff were engrossed in conversation, the woman attempted to walk on the moving belt. As she tried to pass through the plastic curtain at the end of the baggage belt, she lost her balance and fell backward, getting dragged into the dark area where the suitcases pass since the belt did not stop. At that moment, the staff at the counter watched in astonishment as the woman disappeared from sight. According to a report by the Shot news agency, the baggage handlers were very surprised to see a woman instead of suitcases and helped her by showing her the way. The Readovka news site, close to the Kremlin, suggested that the woman acted this way intentionally for this "adventure." The incident occurred during the long holiday period in Russia that includes the New Year and Orthodox Christmas. It was not specified whether the woman was a business or economy class passenger.
