Fenerbahçe and Clubs Association Foundation President Ali Koç made striking statements after the meeting of the Clubs Association at the Kasımpaşa Kemerburgaz Facilities. Koç, who mentioned the broadcasting income and foreign player limit, also spoke about the attack on national boxer Busenaz Sürmeneli in traffic, who is a member of the yellow-navy team.

"MISTAKES ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE"

Starting his words by saying "When you see the Kasımpaşa Facilities, it hurts inside. We envy it. Each of our clubs should have such facilities. I congratulate Mr. Turgay Ciner," Koç said, "We had one of our regular meetings, 3 of our clubs could not attend. We will visit the TFF next week. We went through the topics we wanted to discuss. One of the most important agenda items was the MHK structure. How should the MHK structure be, how should referees be improved, how should appointments be made? We believe that with the work we will do with the TFF, we will be in a different structure next year. As you know, each club brings up the mistakes made to them. The basic opinion is that the refereeing institution needs to be much better for the progress of Turkish football. Mistakes need to be minimized. There will be mistakes where there are people, but we do not think that the mistakes in Turkey are acceptable," he said.

"THIS YEAR, THE CUT IS 28%"

Ali Koç, who stated that they asked for the distribution of the 3 income items from the TFF, said, "While a 22% deduction was made in the past, we received information that a 28% deduction will be made this year by the TFF. The Ministry of Interior organized a meeting during the week. We also attended that meeting. It was the Sports Security Evaluation Meeting, it was very useful. What was very important here was about the rival team fans going to and from the matches in a civilized manner," he said.

"CREATES A HUGE BURDEN"

President Koç, who said that they planned a 5-year study for the economic independence of Turkish football and also met with the TFF, said, "This model is not a sustainable model. It can go to unwanted points. Taxes became one of the most talked about issues. Taxes were increased from 15% to 40% during the Covid period. Let the clubs take only the withholding obligation of the clubs in a few transfer periods, and let the rest be done by the football player and the agent as they do. I am thinking about how to do this. 40% tax creates a huge burden," he said.

"BROADCASTING INCOME, EXPENSES WERE DISCUSSED"

Ali Koç also commented on the broadcasting revenues, saying, "We discussed how to increase broadcasting revenues, how to stop pirate broadcasting. Our expenses were discussed, there are very large deductions. Along with this, we discussed how MHK, ticketing, and other issues can have more say in line with the interests of the clubs, which are the most important stakeholder of football, and how a model can be created," he said.

Koç, emphasizing that there have been many changes in the regulations, said, "The most important gangrene of Turkish football is the performance of the referees. There is no performance and reward system in any way. We are making investments in the world. These investments are negatively affected by one referee decision. The mistakes whose intentions are questioned need to end. The TFF has a roadmap in mind for this. Everything is changing in Turkish football, except for the referees. There are many structural problems. We see that the TFF is addressing these. We also need to have our say, we are the ones who suffer the most. We cannot continue like this. Referees also need to know that they are expensive. It makes us happy to see that there is a TFF that sees this," he commented.

ATTACK ON BUSENAZ SÜRMENELİ
