In the Silifke district of Mersin, it is claimed that Mehmet T. (48) and his wife M.T. (38), who have two children, decided to divorce in February due to severe incompatibility. BEATEN BY HIS BROTHER-IN-LAW AT THE POLICE STATION
While giving his statement here, the father encountered his brother-in-law K.D. when he opened the door to go outside with his son. As the father and his son tried to escape into the police station, the brother-in-law began to assault him. The incident ended with police intervention, and those moments were captured second by second on security cameras.
"HE ASSAULTED ME IN FRONT OF MY CHILD"
Mehmet T. stated that he filed a complaint. Explaining that they decided to separate in February, Mehmet T. said, "During this process, some negative situations occurred. My wife's brother had previously threatened me, and I filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office. Most recently, when my son said he was subjected to violence, I took him to the police station. They also called my wife there. While she was giving her statement in a separate room, as I opened the door to go outside to get some fresh air with my child, my brother-in-law grabbed my arm and tried to pull me outside. My child was with me, and I ran inside. He assaulted me in front of my child there," he said.
THE ISSUE IS IN COURT
Mehmet T. expressed that both his and his child's psychology has been affected, noting that in the definitive report taken after the incident, it was stated that he has permanent blurriness in his eye and that the judicial process regarding the incident is ongoing.
Mehmet T.'s lawyer, Ahmet Serdar Çelikel, also provided information about the process. Çelikel stated that his client was assaulted by his wife's brother at the police station and that they would fight legally in every way possible.
