In Kocaeli Gebze, Yakup Söğütçü, who was on leave from prison, strangled his 33-year-old wife, Esma Söğütçü, to death in her sleep.

A convict who was released on leave from prison in Kocaeli strangled his wife to death while she was sleeping.



The incident occurred in a three-story apartment located in the Adem Yavuz neighborhood of the district, where Yakup Söğütçü strangled his wife Esma Söğütçü, whom he had been married to for 10 years, for an undetermined reason while she was asleep.



Upon hearing noises coming from the house, the neighbors informed the 112 Emergency Call Center. Following the report, police and medical teams were dispatched to the area.



As a result of the examination conducted by the medical teams, it was determined that Esma Söğütçü had lost her life. Following the investigation by the police teams, Yakup Söğütçü, who had gone missing after the incident, was captured and taken into custody.



It was learned that Yakup Söğütçü had come on leave from the prison where he was held for the crime of 'Drug Trafficking' just 3 days ago.
