Doctors in the East Champaran region of Bihar state removed various metal objects such as a keychain, a small knife, and nail clippers from the stomach of a 22-year-old man. The young man was brought to a private hospital in the central region of Motihari a few days ago with severe stomach pain. Surgery was performed on Sunday to remove the objects. Dr. Amit Kumar, who led the surgery, said, "The young man was undergoing psychiatric treatment. X-ray reports revealed the presence of metal objects in his stomach." "First, a keychain was removed during the surgery. Then, we removed two keys, a 10 cm long knife, and two nail clippers from his stomach. When we asked the young man, he said he had recently started swallowing metal objects. Currently, the young man is in good condition and recovering," added the doctor. Dr. Kumar mentioned that the young man had some mental health issues and was taking medication. He also stated that the patient would be discharged soon. This case has become an interesting example in medical literature, demonstrating how mental health problems can affect physical health. It also highlights the importance of mental health services and the value of early diagnosis.
