STREETS TURNED INTO LAKES
The heavy rain and hailstorm affecting the Arpaçay district of Kars negatively impacted daily life. Due to the precipitation, drivers experienced difficult moments on some streets where flooding occurred. Drivers in transit headed to safe areas to protect their vehicles from the hail and waited for the rain to subside.
AGRICULTURAL LANDS FLOODED
On the Arpaçay-Kars highway, at a gas station across from Yolboyu village, vehicle owners fleeing the hail caused a buildup. The hailstorm, effective across the district, also negatively affected citizens engaged in agriculture and livestock farming. Numerous cultivated agricultural lands were damaged. Municipal teams began work at points where flooding occurred.
TORNADO OCCURRED
Meanwhile, a tornado seen near Kozluca village, affiliated with the Kars center, caused concern in the region. It was learned that the tornado, captured on cell phone cameras by citizens, was effective for about 10 minutes.
It was learned that the tornado, one of the rare natural phenomena, did not cause any loss of life or serious material damage.
