Due to the heavy rain in Serik, Antalya, a house and six barns were flooded. The animals in the barn were evacuated with the help of their owner and neighbors.
Due to the heavy rain that has been effective in Serik, Antalya for the past 3 days, the rising water level in the Köprü Çayı River caused flooding in the fruit orchards located in the Ahmediye area of Boğazkent neighborhood, along with 1 house and 6 barns being submerged.
BARNS WERE SUBMERGED
The flooded house became unusable. The cattle barns were filled with water. The animals in the barn were evacuated with the help of the owner and neighbors. The accumulated water on the road between Serik Industrial Site and Boğazkent caused difficult moments for drivers.
27 DOGS RESCUED BY AFAD TEAMS
Boğazkent Neighborhood Muhtar Özkan Uysal stated, "The rain that started around 19:30 yesterday was effective in our region. Our citizen's dog shelter had 27 dogs rescued by AFAD and the municipal team. In Ahmediye village, houses and barns are underwater. The municipality's evacuation efforts are ongoing," he said. Uysal explained that flooding occurred during the rains due to waste in the streams.
"FIRST WE EVACUATED OUR ANIMALS"
İsmail Hasırcılar, whose house was flooded, said, "The inside of my house was filled with water. We started to clean our house with our means." İbrahim Hasırcılar, whose barn was underwater, stated, "My father called and said the house was flooded. About half a meter of water had filled the inside of the house. Additionally, our barns where our cattle stay were submerged. First, we evacuated our animals. Then we salvaged as much hay and feed from the storage as we could," he said.
HOUSES WERE EVAQUATED
In Alanya, many houses were evacuated due to floodwaters in the Obaçayı region.
