35-year-old Chief Inspector Mehmet Cengiz, who served as the "Team Leader" in Hakkari, committed suicide with his service pistol. While allegations of mobbing regarding the chief inspector's death are on the agenda, the Hakkari Governorship announced that an inspector has been assigned to investigate the incident in all its aspects.

On February 12, Chief Inspector Mehmet Cengiz (35), who served as the "Team Leader" in the Public Order Branch of the Hakkari Police Department, was found shot in the head. It is believed that Cengiz committed suicide with his service pistol after being taken to the hospital, where he later died. Following the chief inspector's death, allegations of mobbing emerged.

It was stated that the change in the chief inspector's duty location was carried out as part of an investigation related to narcotic crimes.

The Hakkari Governor's Office also made a statement regarding the matter. The statement included the following remarks:
