As the 2025 Ramadan Feast approaches, retirees are also focusing on the holiday bonus payments. Various scenarios for increases in the holiday bonus given to retirees are being discussed. Payments are made to retirees and their beneficiaries during Ramadan and Eid al-Adha with the holiday bonus that started in 2018 to increase the welfare of retirees. As of 2025, after a 15.75% salary increase for 16.5 million retirees, attention has turned to holiday bonuses. In 2024, the amount of the holiday bonus for retirees was increased from 2,000 TL to 3,000 TL.

HOLIDAY BONUSES ARE VERY IMPORTANT, ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE ON MINIMUM PENSION

This year, Ramadan Feast will be celebrated on March 30, and Eid al-Adha will be celebrated on June 6. For several days, developments regarding a possible increase in retirement bonuses have been reflected in the media. Experts state that holiday bonuses are not updated according to inflation and that the purchasing power of money has decreased, arguing that an increase is necessary. They particularly note that retirees on minimum pensions need an increase in their bonuses.

IT COULD REACH UP TO 4,000 TL

In the corridors of Ankara, various scenarios regarding the increase of retirement holiday bonuses are being discussed. Some sources indicate that the bonuses could be 3,500 TL, and possibly even reach 4,000 TL.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT IS EXPECTED

Although no official announcement has been made yet, retirees continue to maintain their expectations for an increase in holiday bonuses. It is eagerly awaited whether the government will take a step regarding this matter in the coming days.
