CHP Chairman Özgür Özel attended a commemoration program for broadcaster İlhan Erdost. After the event, Özel answered questions from journalists and made controversial statements about former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu. Özel said, "There is no harm in metaphor. Süleyman Soylu is a political chameleon." Highlights from Özel's statements are as follows: "I do not agree with Tuncer Bakırhan's views and I oppose them, but he spoke, and this should be answered with words. We should initiate an investigation; it is unacceptable to raise discussions about immunity. I strongly oppose those words. I was not aware of those words while on the bus that day. Even if I had been, I would not have created a polemic there. Regarding Esenyurt, appointing a trustee on the day the investigation was initiated is a disregard for the court. Now there are similar efforts regarding Ankara. Melih Gökçek's troll armies, Melih Gökçek's operatives and accounts are now conducting investigations into past issues concerning our Mayor of Ankara that did not require investigation. On one hand, I hear this; there is an instruction given to MIT, 'Dig, dig, find something,' let's make some associations.' They should not attempt this; we are aware of everything. "INSTRUCTION GIVEN TO MIT FOR A TRUSTEE IN ANKARA"Meanwhile, I had written a letter to the esteemed MIT President. He had made a presentation to the AK Party Group; I asked them what presentation they made, what do we need to know that we do not know? If the AK Party has its own weaknesses regarding the FETÖ issue, let them say it; if a security-related piece of information is shared with the second party of the country, why are you withholding it from the first party? The esteemed MIT President said he received the letter on October 29 and would respond quickly. We are waiting for that response. I do not think such a thing could happen within MIT. However, I have heard that there is an approach from someone in the Palace saying, 'Investigate something, involve Ankara Metropolitan in these matters.' I expect the esteemed MIT President to show sensitivity on this issue and inform me, my party, and all political parties shortly. DILRUBA KAYSERİOĞLU'S STATEMENTI do not know where he read it from. It is actually being confirmed. I did not say Dilruba came. Our friends who organized the event in Izmir, our provincial and district administration, brought Dilruba to the seat next to me, thinking they would do something good for me. I said, 'This image is not correct; maybe it would have been acceptable after Dilruba's correction.' Inside, I also said to Dilruba, we are appealing against her detention, you will be released very soon, maybe you did not fully express what you meant, if there are those who were upset about this, it would be good for you to correct your statements.' I did not say that Dilruba came on her own. "SÜLEYMAN SOYLU IS A POLITICAL CHAMELEON"Süleyman Soylu is a political chameleon. What did Süleyman Soylu say to Erdoğan in the past? He called him and ran to him. He was the one who defended Erdoğan the most. In the past, he had positive remarks regarding the resolution process, and after the resolution process was abandoned, he was one of the strongest advocates of the harsh and rights-violating process that followed. Süleyman Soylu is a political chameleon. There is no harm in metaphor. You would be surprised if you see a horse changing color while walking through a zoo. Why would someone be surprised to see a chameleon change color!"
