Vanspor, which will face Elazığspor in the TFF 2nd League play-off 3rd round rematch, experienced a major shock. The Vanspor team, which is going to Elazığ for the rematch match to be played two days later, was not provided with a hotel to stay in the city.
NO ACCOMMODATION PROVIDED
Before the match to be played on Monday, May 26, Vanspor had gained a significant advantage by winning the first match 4-1. However, the team, which is continuing its preparations before the rematch, was not given a place to stay in Elazığ.
''WE CONTACTED ALL HOTELS BUT DID NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE''
Vanspor President Erol Temel, speaking to Cega Media, said, ''We contacted all hotels, but we did not receive a positive response from any of them. Hotel officials told us that they received instructions from some official authorities not to provide accommodation.''
While it has been confirmed that Vanspor will stay outside of Elazığ, Temel noted that they received numerous support messages from Diyarbakır, stating, ''Amedspor President Burç Bey, former president Aziz Bey, and many fans called and said they would open their doors. However, if we stay in Diyarbakır, thousands of fans could gather. This raised concerns about security risks, so we ruled out the Diyarbakır option.''
The Vanspor team will stay in Bingöl instead of Elazığ. President Temel stated that they have many friends who want to host them in Bingöl. Reminding the instructions of the TFF, Temel said, ''The team must stay in the city where the match will be played. Otherwise, the match should be played either without spectators or at a neutral venue. We will make our application to the Turkish Football Federation regarding this matter.''
