Israel claimed that Iran and Hezbollah launched a cyber attack containing disturbing messages across the country. This attack occurred following the explosions in Tel Aviv and came after Iran's threat to deliver an "overwhelming response." The Israeli National Cyber Directorate confirmed that approximately five million Israelis received messages in Hebrew on their phones on Wednesday night. The messages contained threatening phrases such as "Say goodbye to your loved ones" and "Don't worry, you will embrace them in hell." The attack targeted a mobile service provider whose name has not been disclosed. The messages appeared to come from Israel's Home Front Command, but the government described it as "a simple attempt to create panic among the public." The Cyber Directorate stated that the messages contained malicious links directing to unknown websites, but these links were neutralized in a short time. It is still unclear whether customer data has been compromised. This incident coincided with a period of escalating tensions along the border between Lebanon and Israel. Reports indicate that Israel conducted a dual hack attack against Hezbollah this week and remotely detonated a series of handheld devices in southern Lebanon. At least 37 people were reported killed and over 3,000 injured in these attacks. No response has yet come from Hezbollah and Iran regarding Israel's claims. The tensions in the region have the potential to escalate into a crisis that the international community is watching with concern.
