According to a survey conducted by Asal Research, a large portion of the public wants the minimum wage to exceed 30,000 TL in 2026. While most participants pointed out the rising cost of living, the research revealed that citizens have strong expectations for a wage increase.

Asal Research conducted its latest survey between September 12-18, 2025, asking citizens the question, "What should the minimum wage be in 2026?" The survey results revealed that a significant portion of the society demands a minimum wage of 30,000 TL or more under the current economic conditions.

According to the research, only a small portion of the respondents found a wage increase close to the current levels sufficient, while the majority are expecting a high rate of increase...

SURVEY RESULTS;

  • Those who said it should be a maximum of 26,000 TL: %14.5
  • Those who said it should be 28,000 TL: %22.6
  • Those who said it should be 30,000 TL: %25.8
  • Those who said it should be 32,000 TL: %13.1
  • Those who said it should be more than 32,000 TL: %24.0

PUBLIC EXPECTATIONS ARE RISING

According to the results, approximately 63% of the participants want a minimum wage of 30,000 TL or more. This rate indicates that the rising cost of living, especially in recent times, and the increases in items such as rent, food, and energy have directly affected citizens' salary expectations.
