President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the D-8 Summit held in Cairo, the capital of Egypt. Upon returning home, Erdoğan answered journalists' questions on the plane and made striking evaluations regarding the return of Syrians to their country after the fall of the Assad regime. "THEY WILL FINISH SCHOOL HERE"Stating that "We are not expelling these people who have sought refuge in our country," Erdoğan said, "We tell these people, 'If you want to go home, you can go, but go on a voluntary basis. You are above our heads. If you say, 'I will go home,' you can go home.' Right now, Syrian children's schools are continuing. They will finish their schools here this year. After that, if they have homes in Syria, in Dara, in Deir ez-Zor, or in other regions of Syria, they can comfortably go there," he stated. "WE WILL COOPERATE IN MANY AREAS"Expressing that they will cooperate with the new administration in Syria in many areas such as defense, education, and energy, Erdoğan said, "Syria currently has serious problems in energy. But we will hopefully quickly resolve all their issues in energy. In this regard, our Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources will provide all kinds of opportunities there, God willing," he added.
