Those who want to go to Uludağ, one of the popular centers of winter tourism, created a crowd at the cable car stations starting from the early hours of the morning. Citizens wishing to reach the summit by cable car had to wait for more than an hour in queues stretching for meters.
Holidaymakers taking advantage of the weekend holiday created a literal human wave in Uludağ. As the number of day visitors increased alongside those staying in hotels, some citizens preferred to take their private vehicles to the summit road. Those who did not want to get stuck in traffic headed to the cable car for a pleasant journey accompanied by the view of Bursa.
LONG QUEUES FORMED
With the first light of the morning, citizens arriving at the cable car facilities formed long queues, while a limited number of passengers were allowed inside for security reasons. This situation caused the queues to grow longer.
While it was reported that the snow depth in Uludağ exceeded 45 centimeters, the air temperature was announced to be minus 5 degrees. Despite the cold weather, citizens wanting to reach the summit expressed that it was worth the wait to have a nice weekend. Citizens who said they had been waiting in line for about half an hour stated that taking the cable car to the summit with their friends offered a unique experience.
THE LONGEST SINGLE CABLE CAR LINE IN THE WORLD AT 9 KILOMETERS
Stating that they offer a unique experience to their guests with the longest cable car line in the world, Bursa Cable Car Marketing Manager Ersoy Ey said, "The snow depth in Uludağ is around 45 centimeters and is expected to reach half a meter with the precipitation until tomorrow. We are experiencing an influx of local and foreign tourists. Taking the cable car to Uludağ is both safe and faster. Bursa Cable Car is the longest single cable car line in the world at 9 kilometers. It is also the first cable car line established in Turkey, serving for 62 years. Our guests enjoy a 22-minute journey while watching the unique Uludağ view from panoramic glass cabins," he said.
Citizens who stated that they had been in line for 1 hour under heavy snow and rain said, "We have been in line here for about 1 hour and we will probably wait just as long again. The best way to reach Uludağ is by cable car, it is worth it. We planned our weekend for this."
ROUND-TRIP TICKET PRICE IS 400 LIRA
The round-trip ticket price is 400 lira for adults and 200 lira for students, and the cable car facilities continue to operate until 19:00 in the evening.
