Preparing for his 41st professional season, the 58-year-old Miura stated, "My passion for football will not change as I get older. I am grateful for the opportunity to play in Fukushima. Let's write a new history together."
PLAYED IN 40 PROFESSIONAL SEASONS
Known as "King Kazu" in his country, Miura has played in 40 professional seasons since the mid-1980s. He began his career in 1986 with Santos in Brazil's Serie A, and after playing for various teams in Australia, Italy, and Croatia, he returned to Japan.
NAMED PLAYER OF THE YEAR, BECAME TOP SCORER
Miura, who has been a player for Yokohama since 2005, was named "Asian Player of the Year" in 1992 and became the league's top scorer in 1996. Miura has also worn the Japan National Team jersey 89 times.
