(TUSAŞ), the company concluded 2024 with a new success. THE NEW HÜRKUŞ PROJECT STARTED IN 2021

Work on the new HÜRKUŞ, designed to meet the pilot training needs of the Turkish Air Force and to further advance the capabilities of the defense industry, began on May 3, 2021.

GROUND TESTS AND SUCCESSFUL FLIGHT

As part of the project, work continued without slowing down, and ground test activities were carried out. After all tests were successfully completed, HÜRKUŞ took off from Akıncı Air Base and met the sky. During the 20-minute flight, it reached an altitude of 6,500 feet and a speed of 140 knots.

According to the technical details in the statement, the structural weight of the new HÜRKUŞ aircraft, which will be delivered to the Air Force in a short time, has been reduced. The aircraft has been made one of the most acrobatic and highest-performing aircraft in its class using the latest technology. HÜRKUŞ also offers a solution to the Turkish Air Force for the flights of pilot candidates thanks to aerodynamic improvements.

In line with the goal of increasing the domestic production rate of the defense industry, many equipment such as canopy, cooling system, hydraulic pump, radio, and IFF have been made local and national. This success also enabled the inclusion of local subcontractors in the project and strengthened the defense ecosystem.
