Located on the Kastamonu-Chankırı border, Ilgaz, with its 2,587 meters high Büyük Hacet Hill, is one of the highest points in the Western Black Sea and is among Turkey's important ski and winter tourism centers. Ilgaz Mountain, which is 40 kilometers from the center of Kastamonu, 200 kilometers from Ankara, and 450 kilometers from Istanbul, will host ski enthusiasts during Ramadan Bayram. The Ilgaz Mountain Yurduntepe Ski Center, which attracts great interest from many provinces, including Kastamonu, Chankırı, Samsun, Sinop, Bartın, Amasya, Istanbul, Ankara, and Karabük, offers skiing, snowboarding, and sledding opportunities alongside the mountain view. Kastamonu Governorate Provincial Special Administration Ilgaz Mountain Yurduntepe Ski Center Economic and Social Facilities Operations Manager Hakkı Kaya stated, "Our season, which started on December 24, 2025, continues uninterrupted. We have a slogan this year, as we do every year; skiing is more beautiful in March. Because there are no fog or wind obstacles. With our first and second stage slopes, skiing will continue uninterrupted until the end of March, including the one-week school break and the holiday. We welcome all ski enthusiasts to Ilgaz Mountain," he said.

Kaya mentioned that the facilities are located at an altitude of 1,800 meters, saying, "We are currently at an altitude of 1,800 meters, with about 1 meter of snow. In the second stage, at an altitude of 2,200 meters, there is about 2 meters of snow. The first stage has a rope length of 2,150 meters and a slope length of 3,600 meters. In the second stage, there is a rope length of 1,180 meters and a slope length of 2,000 meters, making it the longest slope in the Western Black Sea region at 5,600 meters," he explained.
