Inspections carried out by Dicle Elektrik in the Yeşilalıç Neighborhood of Ceylanpınar district in Şanlıurfa as part of the fight against electricity theft turned tense.
According to a statement from the company, legal proceedings were initiated against 30 subscribers found to be using illegal electricity during inspections in the area identified as high-risk through artificial intelligence-supported analyses.
PROCEEDINGS INITIATED AGAINST 30 SUBSCRIBERS
During inspections in the neighborhood, which has approximately 100 households, necessary reports were prepared and legal processes were initiated against subscribers determined to be using illegal electricity through various methods.
THEY WERE ATTACKED WHILE LEAVING THE NEIGHBORHOOD
After the inspections were completed, a group blocked the path of the teams attempting to leave the area.
According to allegations, the incident turned into a stoning attack, targeting the team vehicles, causing material damage to the service vehicles. No loss of life or injuries occurred in the incident.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED
Following the incident, security forces launched an investigation, while Dicle Elektrik stated in a statement that illegal electricity use negatively affects energy supply security and grid infrastructure.
The company also emphasized that attacks on field workers are unacceptable and stated that efforts to combat electricity theft will continue within the legal framework.
