Under the directive of President Trump, the 300 million dollar grand ballroom project initiated at the White House has resulted in the demolition of the 123-year-old East Wing and the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden. While criticisms regarding cost increases continue, Trump stated that the expenses would be covered by private donations rather than taxpayer money.
The large ballroom project initiated at the White House at the request of President Donald Trump is progressing rapidly. A budget of $300 million has been allocated for the construction, and as part of the work, the East Wing and the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden have been completely demolished. In the shared images, it can be seen that only rubble remains where the 123-year-old East Wing once stood.
THE NEW HALL WILL BE 2 TIMES LARGER
Trump stated in a social media announcement over the weekend that the new hall will be "twice as large" as originally planned. He also noted that the column spacing in the architecture of the building has been "widened for observation purposes."
PROJECT COST RAISED TO $300 MILLION
The initial cost of the project was set at $200 million, but the budget has increased to $300 million over time. While rising costs have led to criticism, Trump emphasized that the expenses would be financed "not with taxpayer money, but with private donations."
COMPLETION TIME REMAINS UNCERTAIN
No clear timeline has been shared regarding when the giant ballroom will be completed. However, Trump claimed that the work is "progressing faster than expected," suggesting that the project could be finished ahead of schedule.
