Before the inflation data for December, which will be announced on Monday, January 3rd, the increases in items that will see price hikes at the beginning of the year have started to become clearer. One of the most significant items is expected to be the fee for paid military service, which is anticipated to rise to 333,454 Turkish lira. After the data is announced, the Social Security Institution (SGK) will officially update the fee for paid military service.
According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) for November, the monthly inflation rate was recorded at 0.87%, while the annual inflation rate was recorded at 31.07%.
REACHING 31 PERCENT LEVEL
Inflation accumulated during the July-December period reached 11.20%. It is stated that if inflation is around 1% in December, the year-end target of 31% will be achieved.
The forecast of Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek of "31% by the end of the year" is also considered a critical reference in calculations.
ITEMS TO BE INCREASED BEGIN TO CLARIFY

RECORD INCREASE IN PAID MILITARY SERVICE
One of the most important items among these is the fee for paid military service. The fee for paid military service is calculated based on the monthly coefficient used for civil servant salaries. While the current coefficient is at the level of 1.170211, it is expected that this value will rise to 1.389392 with the year-end inflation. Accordingly, the new fee for paid military service will be 333,454 TL.
TO BE ANNOUNCED ON JANUARY 3
TÜİK will announce the inflation data for December on January 3, Monday. After the data is released, the SGK will officially update the paid military service fee. Payments are expected to be collected starting from the last week of January.
