Images have emerged of the moments when the New Orleans attacker clashed with U.S. police.

Images have emerged of Shamsud Din Jabbar, a former U.S. soldier of Mexican descent, clashing with police during New Year's celebrations in New Orleans, the largest city in Louisiana.

BODY CAMERA FOOTAGE RELEASED

Police body camera footage has been released showing the moments when Shamsud Din Jabbar, who is being investigated by the FBI for connections to ISIS, carried out the attack. The footage taken from Officer Luis Robles' body camera captures the moments when the assailant opened fire on the police.

U.S. POLICE FALLING TO THE GROUND

After Officer Robles approached the door, the air cushions in the truck deployed. At that moment, the assailant aimed his weapon at the police and fired several shots.

As three officers quickly moved away from the truck, one police officer fell to the ground. It is unknown how many shots Jabbar fired at close range.

KILLED 14 PEOPLE DURING NEW YEAR'S CELEBRATIONS

Shamsud Din Jabbar, a 40-year-old former U.S. soldier, drove a truck into a crowd on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans on January 1, resulting in the deaths of 14 people. The FBI is investigating the assailant's connections to ISIS.
