Artist Soner Arıca, who bid farewell to his mother Altun Arıca on her final journey, was shaken just three days later by the death of his uncle Kadir İnanır. Arıca bid farewell to the Yeşilçam master İnanır with the words, "I will watch your films again, which I've seen countless times, our memories will flow before my eyes like a movie, you will always continue to live for me."
Kadir İnanır, one of the unforgettable names of Turkish cinema, passed away at the age of 77 due to organ failure while being treated for pneumonia in the hospital.
While İnanır's death plunged his family and the art community into mourning, artist Soner Arıca was devastated by successive losses. Arıca's mother, Kadir İnanır's sister Altun Arıca, passed away on June 23 and was laid to rest on June 24 in the Fatsa district of Ordu.
"I AM VERY SORRY"
Soner Arıca, shattered by the heartbreaking news of his uncle Kadir İnanır just three days after losing his mother, shared the following statements on his social media account:
"I never thought I would add your photo here for this reason one day. Amid immense pain occurring in such a short time span, I am overwhelmed with mixed emotions. I am very sorry... Thank you for your condolence messages."
"SOME EMOTIONAL STATES DIFFICULT TO DESCRIBE"
Sharing an extensive farewell message for his uncle Kadir İnanır, Arıca emphasized that the master actor was a very special figure not only for his family but also for millions of people. Arıca used the following expressions in his message:
"Some emotional states difficult to describe; in this untimely farewell I will believe is a movie scene, otherwise what part of this reality can one find understandable; surrounded by the wind of pain, I am very sorry... It feels insufficient to define him only as my uncle, because for me he was also a master actor-great artist-one of the unique stars of Turkish cinema, indeed not just within the family but virtually the uncle, brother, and older brother of the entire country; a large portion of men from several generations looked, laughed, walked, and spoke like him with his lines; he was an idol-icon, one of the most handsome… I experienced the privilege of being close to someone whose artistry I admired through his presence; that wonderful privilege of touching the star I applauded on screen… I will watch his films, which I have seen countless times, again, and our memories will flow like a movie before my eyes; he will continue to live forever for me..."
"HE HAD NO WILL"
Speaking in front of the hospital where İnanır passed away, his nephew Levent İnanır said, "There were issues with the lungs and kidneys. His organs were already tired. He was tired, his heart was tired. He had no special request, no will. We will do our best to do whatever Kadir İnanır deserves in the best way. We will bid him farewell in a manner befitting him."
FUNERAL PROGRAM ANNOUNCED
The first ceremony for Kadir İnanır will be held on Sunday, June 28 (tomorrow) at 13:00 at the Harbiye Muhsin Ertuğrul Stage.
Following the memorial service there, Kadir İnanır's body will be brought to the Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque. After the funeral prayer, İnanır will be bid a final farewell with prayers at the Ulus Cemetery.
