A fire broke out for an undetermined reason in the kitchen area of an apartment on the ground floor of a building in Şişli. The fire was extinguished by the intervention of the teams, but an 85-year-old woman who lived alone in the house lost her life.

A fire broke out in the kitchen of an apartment on the ground floor of a four-story building located on Gazi Berkay Street in the 19 Mayıs neighborhood of Şişli, Istanbul, around 08:30 for reasons yet unknown. Firefighters, health, and police teams were dispatched to the area upon the report of the apartment residents who noticed the smoke.

SAD NEWS OF A 85-YEAR-OLD WOMAN

Firefighters who arrived at the scene quickly intervened and extinguished the fire. During the checks, it was determined that 85-year-old Rasel Yanni, who lived alone in the house, was present during the fire. Health teams stated that the woman had lost her life during their examination. After the investigations by the crime scene investigation teams and the Public Prosecutor, the body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institution Morgue. Meanwhile, one person from the same apartment was also rescued by the firefighters and handed over to the health teams.
